1997.12.15SK Telecom Launches the "011 Campaign for the Teenager Breadwinners
In order to reach a helping hand to the needy during the holiday season, SK Telecom joins hands with Sports Chosun, Kukmin Bank Finance Group, the Korea Welfare Foundation, KBS, MBC and the Chosun Daily to launch the "Great Love Built with 10-won Coins - 011 Campaign for the Teenager Breadwinners" on December 20.
The campaign is planned to give practical support to the financially distressed teenagers that are responsible for their families’ living, while at the same time, to help bring the 10-won coins back into circulation, through a nation-wide fund raising effort and supporting activities.
People can participate in the campaign anywhere in the contury by visiting their local Kukmin Bank branches, SK Telecom headquarters, local branch or franchise offices. The money raised will be given to the needy teenagers through the Korea Welfare Foundation. The campaign is also expected to help save the government some valuable tax money by bringing back the 10-won coins into circulation. Minting the coins cost 3.5 billion won annually.
SK Telecom also hosts a program to help the needy teenagers find sponsors in major cities in the hopes that the campaign will not end up being a one-time only event or just a showcase.
