SK Telecom’s ‘4G LTE with PETA Solution’ Wins ‘Outstanding LTE Contribution’ at GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2013

SK Telecom (NYSE: SKM) announced that it was awarded "Outstanding LTE Contribution" for its 4G LTE with PETA Solution’ at the GSMA Global Mobile Awards 2013, the industry’s biggest and the most prestigious award.
Outstanding LTE Contribution’ is a newly added award under the Best Mobile Technology Category in response to the spread of LTE around the world. The award recognizes the company that developed the most innovative and groundbreaking LTE technologies over the past year.
SK Telecom’s 4G LTE with PETA (Premium quality, Excellent speed, Total stability and Advanced technologies) Solution’ is an advanced set of LTE technologies that help enhance the overall LTE network quality and efficiency. It consists of Multi Carrier, LTE femtocell, nationwide VoLTE service, Self-Organizing Network and Advanced Smart Cloud Access Network, all of which the company commercialized for the first time in the world. Since its LTE commercialization in July 2011, SK Telecom completed nationwide LTE deployment covering 99 percent of the population in June 2012. As of the end of January 2013, the number of its LTE subscribers surpassed 8.3 million, which accounts for over 31 percent of the company’s total mobile subscriber base.
