SK Telecom Selected as an Asian Information&Telecommunication

Journalists and organizations related to information and
communications recognized SK Telecom as a major Asian
player in this industry on three different occasions during June.

SK Telecom was chosen as the Best CDMA Operator at
CommunicAsia 2000, a trade show sponsored by Telecomasia magazine that opened in Singapore on June 6.

The CDMA Development Group celebrated the fifth anniversary of CDMA commercialization at a ceremony held in Hong Kong on June 13. At the event, SK Telecom and Bell Wireless
Communications were presented with Service Innovation
award in recognition for their being the world?s first to commercialize IS-95B.

Also in June, the Asian edition of Tele.com magazine carried a story on Asia?s top ten information and communications
companies. The article pointed out that SK Telecom had
recorded the ?most impressive economic rebound,?and the
company was voted the Asia?s second highest investment
value, trailing only NTT DoCoMo by a small margin.

Tele.com invited a panel of experts from 14 major consulting
and investment firms such as Anderson Consulting,
Bain & Co., Goldman Sachs and the Yankee Group to assist in the selection of Asia?s top ten information and communications companies.

According to an SK Telecom spokesperson, overseas press
and consulting companies have singled out SK Telecom
because Korean information and communications technology
is now recognized for excellence internationally. He went on
to say that SK Telecom would continue its efforts to let the
world know about Korea?s technological accomplishments.
