Required to survive for 72 hours depending on the Internet only and cut off from the rest of the world
Participants include celebrities like Hee Suk Nam, Hui Jae Lee and Jae Suk Yu

SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com) is hosting the 2000 SK Telecom Internet Survival Contest for Handicapped Teens at Seoul National University from Monday October 30 through Thursday November 2 to instill the handicapped teenagers with the spirit of challenge and the sense of accomplishment through the Internet.
The event was designed to provide handicapped teenagers with a chance to improve their ability to use the information tool and proper motivation. 5 two-member teams were selected through the first and the second round of competition. The final round is to spend 72 hours without any contact with the outside world and only depending on the Internet.
Each of the five teams will be assigned a room and survive 72 hours with a credit card with a 1 million won limit and the Internet, while finding solutions to the tasks given. The evaluation criteria include the variety in the food they order and eat, cultural activities they participate in and the level of communication with other Netizens.
After the three-day contest, the winners will be awarded with 7.8 million won scholarship and four latest-model notebook computers.
Many celebrities including Hee Suk Nam, Hui Jae Lee, Jae Suk Yu and Clon are also participating in the event in order to encourage the handicapped teens, and Netsgo, SK Telecom?s portal site, will broadcast the entire event via the Internet.
Myung Bok Nam, head of SK Telecom?s public relations department, says, ?We planned this event as part of our efforts to get more handicapped teens on the Internet. We have been very active in helping the disadvantaged. We have been helping the teenagers that are responsible for family living to get computers and the elementary schools in the remote areas to get connected to the Internet.? He added, ?We hope that the event makes a contribution to making the society realize the importance of getting the handicapped teenagers and the disadvantaged connected with the Internet.?
