SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com) announced the start of ?NATE ASP? service as a Mobil Office Business that handles office work, while on the road, through a PDA or cellular phone. ASP (Application Service Provider)service allows you to rent the program and system at a low cost without having to buy them. ?NATE ASP? is a complete wireless office work system that operates by allowing use of e-mail,schedule management, address book, bulletin board, e-Signature through wireless terminals such as PDA, VMT (Vehicle-mounted Terminal), cellular handset, etc.
To accomplish this, SK Telecom formed strategic alliance with IBM Korea, Microsoft Korea and HandySoft that have a majority market share in this fixed-line office work solution, and developed a common platform that links the three companies’ office work systems as well as other existing ones.
On the 11th of March, to promote NATE ASP service, the company held a signing ceremony with 17 companies including Daewoo Information Systems, Tong Yang Systems, KAON I, and TOV Network System, among others.
The biggest advantage of ?NATE ASP? is that corporate clients do not need to build an extra mobile system. To this end, SK Telecom provides services by constructing a common platform that allows linking to any wired platform.
Customers can completely trust ?NATE ASP? to protect the security of personal data that is absolutely kept in only the customers’ server. NATE ASP provides the best in service by constantly applying new technology and system upgrades.
The monthly service fee for NATE ASP is 5,000 won (flat rate) for each cellular phone, 8,000 won for a PDA (extra 5,000 won for installation).
Kyu Kyan Rim, Head of Business Division of SK Telecom positively views the future prospects of this service "Actualizing wireless office work becomes a company’s
essential duty, rather than choice, due to the severe competition between companies in this field. For this reason NATE ASP is an essential vehicle to increase the company’s work production and competitiveness".
The company also has plans to introduce a variety of corporate solutions in mobile services, such as a support system for field service workers, and a customer management system by expanding the NATE ASP service.
