This system has been developed for the first time in the world. It can be applied on the two existing rate plans without any limits
It allows you to verify your itemized service use statement by checking content.
SK Telecom (www.sktelecom.com) announced the development of "Content-Graded Billing Rate System" that allows the company to bill the rate by content for the first time in the world.
"Graded Billing Rate System By Content" is a rate system that computes a customer’s billing amount by first analyzing the data used by the customer, and sorting it by the content, then billing at the most appropriate rate according to the quantity of data used at various times. The current situation involves a rapidly increasing rate of wireless Internet use due to the greatly improved speed of data transmission by CDMA2000 1x EV-DO, This system allows the customer to get rid of the existing rate system that is structured on the circuit (time/packet data quantity) and to use the varied graded billing rates determined by the content.
In particular, the EV-DO Rate Plan, that will be introduced in July of this year, is subdivided into 5 different content category rates (text, GVM/SKVM, VOD/MOD/Wavelet, video phone, and Internet connection). This is possible due to the development of this "Graded Billing Rate System By Content".
In addition, after verifying the service by the content category, the subscriber can analyze their own methods of wireless Internet usage and can easily sort out and improve, the distribution of use of the service to obtain maximum savings and efficiency.
"The significance of developing the Graded Billing Rate System By Content is that it allows customers to use advanced and high speed data service taking advantage of the varied rates. This will be a strong triggering mechanism for activating Data service for our information communication-based society" commented Myung Sung Lee, head of SK Telecom’s Network R&D Center.
