Subscribers to the NATE Ad MoA service will receive 50 complementary SMS messages (a text messaging service), and a KRW1,000 credit toward wireless Internet connection time in the first month.
This service is expected to be a main tool for targeting marketing approaches, due to the fact that SK Telecom can offer different ads to different subscribers, depending on their type of lifestyle and likes
SK Telecom announced the launch of "NATE Ad MoA, the world’s first mobile multimedia ad service that can be viewed via cellular phones. This service has been offered to our customers since the 9th of June.
Customers can view a variety of ads which are automatically downloaded via seven screens, including NATE Send/End, Power On/Off?all with the push of a button. Further, they offer streaming video ads, as well as beneficial daily information, free of charge. SK Telecom targets different ads toward different subscribers, depending on their gender, age, region, and the type of cellular membership service they hold with the company.
In addition to being free to view the latest 5- and 10- second multimedia ads, subscribers to the NATE Ad MoA service will receive in the first month, 50 complementary SMS messages (a text messaging service), and KRW1,000 towards wireless Internet connection time.
And when they view the downloaded ads, they receive, for the first time only, KRW100 worth of NeMo (SK Telecom’s mobile e-money) from each of 12 advertising companies, which include Samsung Electronics, GM Daewoo, and Coca-Cola. In the near future, SK Telecom plans to offer mobile shopping discounts and hold special regular events exclusively for subscribers. In so doing, the number of NATE Ad MoA service subscribers is expected to greatly increase.
The streaming video ads of products that the customer applied for, will be automatically downloaded between 2-9 a.m. NATE Ad MoA has the capability to show a maximum of three ads consecutively, and take the subscriber directly to the product’s wireless homepage, by pressing the hot key.
"The NATE Ad MoA service is a win-win situation for both SK Telecom customers and advertisers: the customers receive pertinent information and benefits from our advertisers, and the advertisers can keep track of the number of times their ads are viewed. In order to subscribe to the service, customers have to click ’8. ad/NATE Air channel-> ? DaDaiksun MoA’ by connecting to the NATE service. They are also allowed to apply for a subscription at the NATE Ad MoA service homepage (http://moa.nate.com), and the SK Telecom Customer Center, as well as sales outlets.
Currently 10 handset models support the NATE Ad MoA service: Motorola’s V710/730/740 and MS100/150; Samsung’s X750 and V330; SK Teletech’s IM5300/6200; and Pentech & Quritel’s E200.
