The training consists of a total of 7 training sessions totaling 53 days, for 165 China Unicom engineers.
This is a concentrated training course focused on a variety of case studies in CDMA network operation.
An SK Telecom official announced that the company is providing CDMA network optimization training to 14 key China Unicom engineers at SK Telecom’s Future Management Institute in Ichon, Korea in a session lasting until the 19th of January. China Unicom is the second-largest mobile phone service provider in China.
This training course corresponds to the 2nd session, out of a total of 7 training sessions involving 165 China Unicom engineers. It will be carried out from December 17th 2003 to March 23rd 2004 (53 days). The 1st training session on basic wireless network operation took place in Beijing in December 2003,drawing keen attention in the Chinese telecom market.
Based on the experience of the 1st training session, SK Telecom will offer condensed training courses focusing on a variety of case studies on CDMA network and service operations. In this session, the China Unicom engineers and managers will likely acquire the knowledge necessary for building and operating CDMA networks and systems in the short-term. SK Telecom paved the way for advancing into the Chinese telecom market, by successfully completing CDMA network operation training for China Unicom personnel in 2001. This training was designed to help China Unicom successfully launch CDMA service in the Chinese market.
An SK Telecom official revealed that, in terms of the CDMA network training, the company will continue to generate short-term revenue through a partnership business model that includes our network operation know-how, and knowledge-based consulting services. On a long-term basis, the company is laying the groundwork for creating future revenue by implementing the network operating business in China.
