SK Telecom Strives to Implement New Businesses Based on Win-Win Partnerships

Shin Bae Kim, president of SK Telecom, held a press conference in the Plaza Hotel on March 23rd. In that conference he revealed that SK Telecom will make a concerted effort to carry out new businesses based on win-win partnerships.

In the press talk, president Kim also stated, "The cooperation between partners within the same industry, or within different industries, is required in our current ubiquitous and convergent environment. For this reason, SK Telecom will establish win-win partnerships with telecom operators and entities within other related industries. This will allow us to play a pivotal role as the leading company in the creation of new markets".

"SK Telecom will leap forward into the second stage of exploring new growth engines as it plays the role of locomotive for national economic development. To this end, we will successfully deploy a home network business, as well as the digital mobile broadcasting business operated by the "Araehanbyul" satellite that was launched on March 13th. We will also solidify our cooperative ties with telecom operators and entities within other related industries. We also plan to execute strategic alliances with financial institutions in the telecommunications and finance convergence arenas" he added.

SK Telecom will continue to form strategic alliances with global telecom operators that will build cooperative relationships in marketing and technology in the entire field of mobile communications. This effort, reinforced with a variety of new business models based on our cutting-edge wireless Internet solutions and technology, will greatly contribute to our advancement into the international market.

SK Telecom will continue to grow the exporting of wireless Internet platforms and "Coloring" solutions to the international market. We have also been providing wireless Internet services in China since March of this year through ’UNISK’, a joint venture company established by the company and China Unicom.
SK Telecom will continue to make significant inroads into the overseas markets, by forming strategic affiliations with worldwide telecom operators such as Alcatel.
