SK Telecom announced the launching of a new service named ’Loview’, starting on November 2nd. This service will let users easily transmit and upload new photos taken by camera phones or digital cameras, onto digital frames at home.
In the case of photos from camera phones, users can send color SMS to ’*7777’ as receiver. Users can also use a computer to connect to the ’loview’ homepage (loview.co.kr) to upload photos. They can also edit and view the photos in the slide show format.
To use the ’Loview’ service, customers must subscribe to the ’Loview’ homepage. Once they get full membership by purchasing digital frames, they can access a 300MB size online space to showcase and edit photos on their own. This service also lets users upload photos to their own or other users’ digital frames at the same time via mobile phone, as well as use the same function as the Internet in managing photos stored in the wireless Internet.
As a service promotion period, no service fee will be charged until the end of this year. However, the wireless Internet and color mail use fees via mobile phone will be charged separately. Beginning next year, full members can send unlimited photos with a monthly fee of KRW 3,000, and ordinary members will pay KRW 200 for each photo sent.
Hyung Chul Joo, head of SK Telecom’s U-Biz Development Office commented, "Loview is a ubiquitous service that lets users transmit their precious photos to digital frames of their family or beloved one, anytime and anywhere. SK Telecom plans to offer simple information services together with the photo transmission function. This includes background music, streaming multimedia, master paintings, beautiful landscapes, news, weather forecasting, etc."
