SK Telecom plans to release a new brand called ’T’ that will represent its mobile communications services.
The ’T’ brand pursues the offering of ’Ubiquitous Network Services’ that overcome the limitations of existing mobile services.
The ’T’ logo implies Telecom, Technology, Top and Trust.
This new logo called ’T’ represents a futuristic life and cutting-edge image through its shape that moves into a transparent space.
SK Telecom, the number one mobile communications operator in Korea, is now growing into a global convergence services operator as the company launches mobile services in the U.S., and forms a strategic alliance with China Unicom, during the 1st half of this year. In addition, the company acquired iHQ and Seoul Records with the objective of providing convergent services in telecommunications and entertainment. In the 2nd half of 2006 SK Telecom is declaring a reinforcement of its competitive-edge in the mobile service area.
To this end, SK Telecom plans to release the new brand called ’T’ that represents its mobile communications services, on August 1st. The company has been introducing the ’T’ brand through TV commercial teaser advertising since July 14th. ’T’ implies Telecom, Technology, Top and Trust. The brand also emphasizes the company’s commitment to offering trustworthy mobile services that represent the latest technologies.
Under the ’T’ Brand, SK Telecom will focus on increasing customer value by strengthening service competitiveness and technological leadership, rather than getting into simple price competition. The company will integrate the competitive-edge of each service sector into the ’T’ brand.
Bang Hyung Lee, executive vice-president and head of SK Telecom’s Business Group commented, "The ’T’ brand aims to be a ubiquitous network that is capable of transmitting any kind of information beyond the traditional limitations of time, space, or interface. To this end, we are poised to secure the best technological expertise in the rapidly progressing mobile communications industry, and take the lead in providing a variety of new mobile services in the upcoming convergent era. SK Telecom will place first priority on technologies and services that can directly benefit customers’ everyday lives. In this connection, the launching of ’T’ is a part of our efforts to substantially enhance customer value".
The new logo ’T’ represents a futuristic life and cutting-edge image through its shapes that move into a transparent space. The logo’s red and orange colors convey the passion for an unlimited future, and the silver on square gateway emphasizes a futuristic lifestyle and cutting-edge image. Notably the three dimensional shape of the ’T’ in the gateway suggests proactive and dynamic qualities. The square gateway reflects SK Telecom’s commitment and progressive nature toward the creation of new customer value through new technologies, products and customer services.
Every new brand related to SK Telecom’s major mobile services will be created based on the ’T’ brand. The existing brands will also be integrated into the ’T’ brand on a gradual basis.
The ’SK Telecom’ brand that was used as the mobile services brand as well as the corporate brand, will play a role in strengthening our corporate image, and the ’T’ brand will be the representative mobile service brand.
