SK Telecom Wins 2008 Frost & Sullivan ICT Award for Most Innovative Application/Product of the Year

(Seoul, 23 May 2008) - SK Telecom announced today that its Gifticon, a mobile-based gift coupon service, won the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Award for Most Innovative Application/Product of the Year.
The Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific ICT Awards were established by Frost & Sullivan, one of the four largest telecom consulting companies in the world. Every year, it recognizes innovative enterprises and entrepreneurs in 28 categories of the industry in the region. Especially, the Best of the Best Awards are presented to the most innovative enterprises and entrepreneurs in 6 categories.
The Most Innovative Application/Product of the Year category is among the Best of the Best Awards, which is given to a company that demonstrates the highest score in a number of fields including customer-oriented service model, customer satisfaction, and social value. In 2004, SK Communications won the same award for Cyworld service.
Frost & Sullivan highly recognized Gifticon service saying, "The service makes users send and receive presents anytime, anywhere through the Internet, instant messenger, and mobile phones. With Gifticon service, users can send mobile coupons for a variety of products such as a cup of coffee, ice cream, and pizza through their mobile phones, wired or wireless Internet, or instant messenger. The coupons are delivered in the form of SMS and those received the message can exchange the mobile coupons with real products at offline stores. At present, over 100 products of 33 companies including Mr. Pizza, Starbucks, and Baskin Robbins are available.
