Press Release
SK Telecom and its 011/017 customers are carrying out ’Call Plus - Love Plus’ events from the 10th of June to the 10th of August this year, to support reconstruction of Iraqi schools, and to aid in the meals for school children program. The company will receive applications for Call Plus credit donations from 011/017 customers through the SK Telecom website. The event will be conducted in a matching-funds manner in which SK Telecom donates amounts equal to the donations from customers.
The donations will be used for repairing schools in Iraq, purchasing school fixtures, and providing meals to Iraqi school children through the Korea Food for the Hungry International (www.kfhi.or.kr).
Any 011/017 customer (except corporate clients) who has more than 1,000 points of Call Plus credits, are eligible to take part in this event. They can apply for a donation based on 1,000 points at the SK Telecom customer website (www.e-station.com), after fulfilling certain identification procedures. There is no ceiling amount or limit on the number of donations.
When the customer applies to make a donation, 1 credit of Call Plus will be converted to 1 won and SK Telecom will donate an additional 1 won. Therefore, 2 won per 1 credit will be accumulated toward donations. The company will issue a donation receipt if the customer asks for it.
SK Telecom will grant an extra premium to applicants who hold an application with the numbers 11 or 17, in order to express our thanks. The specific contents of donation events will be announced through the monthly bill, SK Telecom homepage, and e-station website. Applicants can also get detailed information through the Korea Food for the Hungry International (www.kfhi.or.kr).
SK Telecom predicts that about 10,000 customers will participate in this precious and valuable event, and about 100 million won will be collected through customers’ Call Plus scores, plus a corresponding amount donated by the company.
If more than 100 million won is collected, SK Telecom and the Korea Food for the Hungry International plan to offer an opportunity to conduct volunteer activities in Iraq to certain donators who will be selected by drawing lots on the website.
