SK Telecom’s ’Calling Number Identification Service’ will be launched in the U.S, China, Thailand, Guam, Saipan Island, Hong Kong, and New Zealand for the company’s cellular subscribers.
SK Telecom customers in China, Japan, and New Zealand, will be allowed to connect to the wireless Internet, by the second half of this year.
Now SK Telecom cellular subscribers can receive written messages, and identify the calling number from Korea, via their cellular phones while staying overseas.
SK Telecom announced that the company will offer ’Written Message Automatic Roaming Service’ free of charge, to its customers in the 6 countries of Guam, Saipan Island, Japan, China, Thailand and Hong Kong, beginning on the 24th of July. At the same time, free SK Telecom Calling Number Identification Service for the company’s cellular subscribers, will be launched in the U.S, China, Thailand, Guam, Saipan Island, Hong Kong and New Zealand.
"SK Telecom customers who are visiting overseas countries, can now conveniently and economically use International Roaming Service, receive urgent written messages, and identify calling numbers via their cellular phones," said Hak Hee Lee, head of SK Telecom’s Global Roaming Team.
The Written Message Automatic Roaming Service, and the Calling Number Identification Service, will be provided only when the customer uses the Automatic Roaming Service. Before they depart from the country, customers can make an inquiry about the Automatic Roaming Service at the SK Telecom Automatic Roaming Customer Center located on the 3rd floor of the Incheon International Airport and the Automatic Roaming Zone located next to Departure Gate 12, on the 3rd floor of Incheon International Airport.
By the second half of this year, SK Telecom also plans to provide the world’s first Wireless Internet Roaming Service for customers who are visiting China, Japan, and New Zealand.
Currently SK Telecom is providing the CDMA Automatic Roaming Service in 10 countries. These are the U.S., China, Japan, Thailand, Canada, Hong Kong, Saipan Island, Australia, New Zealand, and Guam.
